My name is Angie Christmas.

The first question people ask when they meet me is, “Is that your REAL name?”  The answer is yes.  Just as we are all born with a name, we are all born with a desire to find our calling and follow it passionately.  Someone’s name can be compared to the cover of a book, but there is so much depth to one’s story.  The same goes for a photograph.  They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, but I have a different theory:

Photography tells a story without words.

A photographer is like an author.  An author needs experiences to write a story.  Imagine being the person to capture a page within someone else’s life: That first kiss at a wedding, which binds a lifelong commitment; the first glimpse of a military spouse awaiting a soldier’s return; the animation in a newborn’s eyes; a secret smile between siblings; the connection between lovers.

I was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida in the 1980’s during a time when the world had only begun to use digital photography.  I found great enjoyment in capturing life’s moments with my first point and shoot 35 mm camera around the age of 10.  During my preteen years, I was given the opportunity to choose an elective in school and was immediately drawn to Photography.  With a desire to practice outside of the classroom, I saved up enough money to purchase my first film SLR camera, a Pentax K1000.  I found myself in love with the art of photography and expressing my creativity through photos.

Throughout the years I have acquired different cameras and lenses as my art has evolved.  I now shoot with Nikon camera systems.  I currently use the D4 with various lenses.  My backup camera is the D800.  I have multiple flash units to use on and off camera.  I also have a private studio.  Each new piece of equipment sparks a renaissance of stories that I need to capture.  I have artistically preserved very special moments for engagements, weddings, infants, families, and graduates.  Nothing feeds my passion more than being behind the lens.

We can discuss shooting at a location of your choice. I keep a revolving list of great places to take photographs. Contact me now to book your session and let's create something beautiful!!
